conference

Seriously, I just want to say how blessed I feel that we have living prophets and apostles. Today I got to enjoy the first 2 sessions of the 181st General conference of the church. The Latter Day Saint church follows the same organization that Christ's church did when He was on the earth. We have a prophet, who speaks on behalf of God, and then we have 12 apostles, just like Christ did. During conference we get to listen to all of these men speak and give us council and guidence on behalf of the Lord. (there's a little church lesson for those who aren't members and read this blog:)
Today when they were reading over the statistics of the church, I was just amazed! Over 14 million members and over 200,000 new converts in the last year! We are so prominant in the world today, and we have so much potential!
And then to hear about the new temples that are being built, Idaho is recieveing it's 5th temple! The work is going forward with such force that we just have to keep building temples! how aweomse.
I just feel overwhelmed and lucky to be a part of this great work, and to be alive in this time when so much good is on the earth. We always hear about the bad things going on in the world, and there are many, but God still works through His people, and people everywhere, members of the church and non-members, are striving to do their best, and that makes me happy.
I'm so grateful that we have conference, it's so empowering to be reminded that there are people all over the world striving for the same goals that I am, and going through struggles, and coming out stronger.
I love the prophet, Thomas S. Monson, what a squish:)
I wish the whole world would listen to confrerence!
