So it started with a little jont down to utah, me, emma, hyrum, and karly packed up the car and drove into salt lake where we met up with Savanna, Brycen, Anthony, Jen, and Coleman. We had a little dinner, and then hit up THE GAYEST (excuse my lack of PC) dance club. It was especially gay because special little I, was the only one under 21...(and when I say under, I mean 2 months people!!!) however everyone else got a special neon stamp that let them go into the bar, and I was restricted to the 18 and over dance floor....luckily after a dangerous run in between me and the bouncer (aka me trying to sneak into bar, bouncer getting mad and giving me jumbo LOSER stamp on my right hand...no joke) everyone joined me on the dance floor (it's not like anyone planned on drinking anyways!!) We attempted to dance to the amazing techno music that they played THE WHOLE NIGHT?! once we realized it was never going to stop being techno, we just rolled with it. You better believe I enjoyed my share of a little cage dance haha, and I made friends with a boy w/ an afro who was high. Oh the things we do
The next morning we hit up the festival of color in Spanish fork.
I'm not completely sure what the festival is, but I know it's something to do w/ the Indian culture, and basiclly you buy chalk and everyone throws it up in the air at once and you just get COATED...
Let me tell you, I LOVED that festival. I felt like I was at home in Seattle. It was so liberating, the band was singing about spreading the love and stopping the violence, and although I consider myself more of a right wing when it comes to my politics, I love me a little hippie action. spread the love, stop the violence, and teach everyone that we are all God's children (okay so i'm partially serious, partially fesicious, but hey, I'm 20, and I was born in an era that's a little bit more tolerant...)
The Indian Temple! This is before it got REALLLY busy |
some of my faves :) |
Basiclly how it works is you pay 20 bucks and you get to eat from the buffet of sides they have there (like sushi, salads up the ying-yang, beans, rice, mashed potatos, you get the picture) and then you have a constant buffett of meat delivered to your table until you call it quits. I ate never-ending bbq chicken, flank steak, pork loins, fried pineapple, sausage, shrimp, salmon, scallops, gralic sirloin, chicken heart (weird!), and more that i cant even remember! we were deffinitly the servers favorite table, and i deffinitly ate my moneys worth of meat!
all-in-all i had a FAB weekend! deffinitly experienced a lot of new things, and deffinitly now have pink hair (yes the down side is that the chalk from the color festival dyed my hair pink...) luckily i rocked it at church today, so whatev....
peace and blessings

(and lets stop the violence ya'll ;)
Love this, Love you! :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading your posts- they make me laugh every time. Sounds like the perfect little reprieve from the "Burg" life. And if anyone can rock pink hair and eat their weight's worth of meat- it's you. Love you.
